WINTER SKINCARE TIPS
Hellllllo beautiful people! Welcome to BLOGMAS day 9! Today’s a good one! It’s all about skin care and keeping your skin flawwwwwless even with the harsh winter air! ❄️
The weather is getting colder and it’s super important to keep your skin well hydrated and cared for during the colder seasons! My skin is already usually super dry, so I make sure to follow my skin care routine to a t!
SOOOO! Today I’m sharing my top 5 skin care tips, my favorite products, and my skin care routine!
Top 5 tips for winter skin care:
- HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE. Making sure you get the adamant amount is super important in many ways. It lubricates your joints, flushes the body of toxins, boosts the heath of you skin (dehydration of the skin can cause premature wrinkles! YIKES)
- MOISTURIZE LIKE NO OTHER. It may be time to upgrade from your lightweight summer moisturizer to a thicker daily moisturizer to help protect the skin! I also incorporate jojoba oil into my moisturizing routine.
- EXFOLIATE AND SUNSCREEN. Your skin needs to be exfoliated 1-2 times a week to keep your skin looking fresh and vibrant. Exfoliating has many benefits such as removing dead skin cells leaving the skin refreshed looking, helps unclog pores, stiuluates circulation, and so much more. Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean it’s time to put up the sunblock! If you’re outside for prolonged periods of time make sure you’re still protecting your skin from the sun.
- WEAR GLOVES. I’ll be the fist to admit I need to follow this tip better! My hands are constantly super dry year round and only get worse in the winter. So, when you’re outside in the cold harsh air, cover up those hands! Gloves provide a protective barrier to help keep your hands from being exposed to the elements. keeping the moisture locked in.
- INVEST IN A HUMIDIFIER. A humidifier is a little machine that puts moisture into the air. This can be very beneficial in keeping your skin and hair moisturized during the winter months, especially if you live in a dryer climate.
My favorite skincare products:
You’ve probably seen Tula products everywhere lately and that’s because they’re truly amazing! Everything I’ve tried from Tula I love! So no surprise there that Tula is in my list of favorite skin care precuts. Here’s one you may not be as familiar with; Alitura. They’re a higher end skincare line but totally worth the investment!
- Facial Cleanser: Tula– The Cult Classic Purifying Face Cleanser, Alitura– The Alitura Pearl Cleanser
- Exfoliater: Tula–So Poreless Deep Exfoliating Blackhead Scrub, Trader Joe’s– Microdermabrasion Scrub Exfoliating Cream.
- Toner: Tula– Get Toned Pro-Glycolic 10% Resurfacing Toner
- Moisturizer: Tula– Super Soothe Calming Moisturizing Lotion,24-7 Moisture Hydrating Day & Night Cream, Alitura– The Alitura Moisturizer, NowSolutions– Organic Jojoba Oil
- Face Masks: Tula- Self-Care Sunday Nourishing Face Mask, Alitura– The Clay Mask
- Others & Tools: Mad Hippie- Vitamin C serum, Tula– Sunscreen-Protect + Glow Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30, Derma Roller, Eco Tool Cleans and Prep Kit.
My winter skincare routine:
Morning:
- Wash my face with cool water with my Tula Cult Classic Face Cleanser. Pat face dry.
- Apply Tula Toner, allow to dry.
- Moisturize using Tula Super Sooth Calming moisturizer. If I know I’ll be outside a lot that day ill apply Tula Protect + Glow sunscreen.
- Once everything is dry, my face is ready for the day and I’ll apply my makeup if I’m wearing any that day! I’ve become pretty confidence with my bare face skin due to using Tula and Alitura so I usually only wear makeup for special occasions.
Night:
- Wash my face with warm water using Tula Cult Classic Face Cleanser, rise with cool water, then pat dry.
- Tone, using Tula get toned.
- Moisturize. I alternated using Alitura The Moisturizer or NowSolutions jojoba oil. If my skin is super dry that night, I will use both.
- Twice a week I will exfoliate after washing my face using the Trader Joe’s mircodermabrasion scrub.
And that’s it! It’s super simple and I think my skin looks amazing and well kept!
Pro-tip: making sure you change your pillow cases 1-2 times a week will help keep your face from getting breakouts and free from any extra bacteria and unnecessary oils.
