Smart Snacking
Snack (n): A small portion of food eaten in-between meals.
Let’s face it, most of us snack. If you’re like me, the snack queen, then sometimes you snack just because you feel like eating and you’re not even “hungry.” Which is why I’ve stocked the pantry with snacks that are healthy alternatives to the typical high glycemic, empty calorie snacks.
SO! Here are some of my snacking staples.
- Whisps
O. M GEEEEE. These are probably my new go to snack! Made with 100% real cheese, gluten free, low carb, and high protein! These bad boys are a great alternative for chips. I love making some home made guac and eating it with Whisps! You can eat them straight up, salad topper, great for dipping! The possibilities are endless! They also come in SO many different flavors! I’ve linked the different flavors if you want to try them out!
🧀 Cheddar
🧀 Parmesan
🧀 Asiago & Pepper Jack
🧀 Barbeque
🧀 Tomato Basil
🧀 Tangy Ranch
🧀 Nacho
2. CHOMPS
These are the perfect grab and go snack. They’re gluten free, Whole30 approved, Keto, paleo, zero added sugars and protein packed! Not to mention Syd fit approved! They are perfect for throwing into your bag on your way out the door, a quick little something in between meals to hold you over, also a great one to bring on your next hike! They also come in different flavors! You can find them at Trader Joe’s and Amazon! I’m a simple gal and my fave is the Original Turkey.

3. Smart Sweets
You didn’t think I’d leave out a little something sweet did you?! To satisfy that sweet tooth craving, that lets face it we all have! Smart Sweets are for sure a better alternative to the traditional gummy candy. These bad boys average about 3 grams of sugar per bag vs 30 grams of sugar for those traditional candies! And they’re plant based! I LOVE the Sweet Fish which are their version of those red fish from Sweden. 😉 Perfect for that after dinner feeling of “Now I need something sweet!” They also have other low sugar versions of your classic favorites! You can find them at Target, Amazon, Sprouts, and Whole Foods!
🍭Sweet Fish
🍭Peach Rings
🍭Sweet Chews
🍭Sour Blast Buddies
🍭Sour Gummy Bears
🍭Fruity Gummy Bears
4. Hard Boiled Eggs
An egg-cellent healthy fat, protein packed snacky snack! They’re quick, easy and rich with vitamins D, E, A, biotin, and omega-3 fatty acids! Just boil some eggs and place them in a dish to store in the fridge, that way they’re ready to grab and eat whenever that snack craving hits! My favorite way to boil eggs is actually steaming them! It makes it easier to remove the shell! Just steam them how you would steam your veggies! I usually steam them for 8-12min and then done! Sprinkle a little bit of Trader Joe’s Everything but the Bagel seasoning on top and enjoy!
5. Seaweed Snacks
Don’t knock em’ til ya try em’! These are actually prettttttty good! A nice light snack and an easy way to bring a necessary nutrient, iodine, into your diet! You can find the seaweed snacks just about anywhere and they also come in flavors if you aren’t into the straight up seaweed taste!
If you’ve tried any of these healthy snacks let me know! If you haven’t and decide to try them, let me know what you think of them! ORRRRR if you have any go-to healthy snacks feel free to share! Im always down to trying any new snacks!!
Happy snacking lovelies!
