LET’S TALK HAIR
Hello beautiful people! Happy Friday!!! and I may be a little late to the punch with this one butttttt, HAPPY NATIONAL HAIR MONTH! lol Well, actually October 1st was national hair day, but I’m just going to give the whole month to celebrate your fabulous hair lololol.
A little back story for you guys, I attended and graduated from Paul Mitchell Cosmetology School! However, I never went and got my license. At the time I was in a weird period in my life and was very un-sure what path I wanted to take career wise. Do I regret never going to take my state boards? YES. But, I grew so much as a person and met some amazing people during my time going to school there and I am very grateful for that!
OK, back to hair talk. Through some tramatic hair disasters (my hair being legit fried off with lightener and having to cut it all off, to a botched 7 layer, stair case hair cut and having to chop it off AGAIN) I’ve learned the value of hair, and although its JUST hair and “it’ll grow back” having nice hair really does give you confidence! I saw a meme or whatever you want to call it the other day it said “I would never pay that much for my hair.” “Yeah, I can tell” It made me laugh and it’s also so, so, so, true. You get what you pay for and hair services are no different and as I said before, I’ve had several hair disasters that took years and many dollars to fix and correct!
Do your research just like you would do for anything else when trying to find the right salon and stylist for you. Read reviews, look at their instagrams for photos of their work and read the comments. Set up a consultation if you desire to get a feel of the stylist and salon before your service. Getting your hair done can be an invesment but I P R O M I S E you it’s worth paying for. The same goes for hair procucts! Believe it or not this is so true. You dont want to pay for a beautiful hair service and then destroy it with cheap hair products that will damge your hair in the long run and dull your fresh color. Your stylist will recommend produts for you to use and most of the time you can buy them directly from the salon. I personally L O V E DryBar and Matrix products! Below are a few of my farovites!
If you’re In the Greenville, SC area I H I G H L Y recommend The Bombshell Lounge. The owners Randi and Madeline were fellow Paul Mitchell Graduates and they’ve come together and opened their own salon that is beautiful, cozy, clean, and glamorous. Along side of them are 2 other amazing stylists, Sam and Cat. Each offering a variety of services. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted and there is complimentary coffee or a glass of wine. The waiting area is super cute and cozy and most deff IG worthy. All of the girls are super funny and personable and you’ll most likely be laughing the whole time. The overall experince The Bombshell Lounge prodives is inpecable. The postive and welcoming vibes The Bombshell Lounge has is one of the many reasons I love this salon! Each service is amazing and always turns out better than I could of imagined and they truly care about the health of your hair, which is very undervalued! A stylist that is honest with you about your hair and wants the best for it is the kind of stylist you want.
I’ve had several different services at The Bombshell Lounge each one being absolutely amazing. Randi does all of my hair services- hair cuts, color (she’s a pro at blonde!), and extensions. Sam has done my eyelash extensions (she’s amazing) and I’ve gotten a blow out from her for my bodybuilding show. The best blow out I’ve ever gotten!
